The TETRAPOL Forum is a French-registered association created in 1994. Membership is open to all communications equipment manufacturers. Forum members actively promote TETRAPOL and aim to cement it's position as the world's leading digital PMR standard.
The Forum's first objective is to present potential buyers with a range of suppliers supporting the TETRAPOL standard. This in turn enables customers to multi source TETRAPOL equipment and services enabling an economic and timely deployment of turn key networks.
The Forum's second objective is to guarantee the interoperability of TETRAPOL products avalaible from the various manufacturers affiliated to the Forum. To provide ease to access to IPR documentation as each member of the Forum commits itself to share, free of charge, all IPR documentation and patents relating to their TETRAPOL products with other forum members. Additionally, the TETRAPOL Forum is responsible for the maintenance of documentation and the development of systems interfaces whilst working closely with the TETRAPOL Users' Club and the relevant industry organizations.
The third objective is to support and accelerate the standardization of TETRAPOL for national security forces and public safety organisations with the relevant standardization bodies and within those specific users groups representing security forces (i.e. Schengen Group, Police Cooperation Council, etc.).
Finally, the TETRAPOL Forum is responsible for the TETRAPOL News, TETRAPOL Flash and e-TETRAPOL, and other TETRAPOL promotional material. TETRAPOL News report on users' expertise, new technical products and development, and describe the current market and the status of standardization. TETRAPOL News is published in five languages (English, German, Italian, Spanish and French).TETRAPOL Flash is issued in English. They have both a circulation of 12.000 and are distributed in 120 countries.
Forum Membership for Industrial Organizations
Members of the Forum have direct access to the Users' Club and thereby can promote their knowledge and experience of TETRAPOL to other existing and potential users.
The ability to use the TETRAPOL PAS and gain access to the IPR and patents relating to system interfaces at no cost, which in turn permits companies to compete in the ever increasing TETRAPOL market.
Members can participate in working groups, within the Forum, that specify new services and system functionality in accordance with users requirements. All specifications are approved in general meetings of the Forum.
Forum members may contribute to TETRAPOL News and benefit from the exposure afforded by its widespread circulation.
Forum membership affords cooperative participation throughout the European Community, ETSI, the ITU, the Schengen Group, the Police Cooperation Group, etc.
